These days, he is well-known as a prominent arts patron with a rich appreciation for fine art, but the truth is, Baryn Futa wasn’t born that way. In fact, the beginnings of his artist’s soul actually came after his retirement, when he began working with the Denver Art Museum. In that position, something sparked inside him and he began to appreciate the vital importance the arts play in every society. No one was more surprised than he that he felt such a deep attraction to the art world and developed such a profound importance to preserving society and culture.
During his time at the DAM, he attended art fairs and museum exhibitions and anything else he could find to satisfy his craving for more. Thankfully, Baryn Futa realized that, while nearly everyone has an appreciation for the arts on some level, few are in a position to support the arts to the extent that is needed. It is that reality that has caused Baryn to take on as much of that responsibility that he could. Over the course of his later life, he has come to realize that art is a great cause that benefits society, but it is also a profitable and useful investment. Loving art is a win-win for everyone.
